He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Psalm 147:4
The rare planetary alignment will be most visible on February 7th the date of the 50th Super Bowl. It will be visible from 1/20 -2/20. It has not happened for a decade and will not happen for another 10 years. In December 2004 the last time this occurred the Asian tsunami took place killing over 230,000. The story of this planetary alignment gained widespread attention just days before NASA announced it has discovered a 9th planet.

The Most High is intentional with every planet’s movement and name. Though pagan religions throughout time have construed celestial bodies as gods this does not change their name. Looking at two entities from opposing viewpoints does not change their root meaning. We come back to the Author of all creation and the One who decided their names. In other words, Jupiter is the king planet and its mass far exceeds the combined mass of all the planets in our solar system. Tzedeq צדק, Jupiter, means justice. God is just but for the Romans Zeus was just and would send thunder and lightning down from heaven to enact his justice.
We will look at the meanings of these planets in mythology but through a Judeo-Christian perspective lens. I stumbled across a Wiccan website the other day. They had a meme that said the veil is coming down and darkness must increase before we can see the light. Is this inconsistent with the truth in God’s word? Believers would say as the inevitable darkness encroaches the children of the day will shine brighter. People are on all different sides of the truth but the truth is still there. As the Romans and Greeks acknowledged the planets existence and a supernatural force, they denied the absolute truth of The One True God. YHWH who named the starry hosts and dictates their every movement.
Thus we have a particular alignment that has caught people’s attention. There is a statement to be made from this if we are willing to accept the names and meanings of the planets that have persisted through history. The exact moment these 5 planets would line up in 2016 was foreknown and predetermined.
Far more than being “neat”, let’s remember Who determines their every move. The next logical step is to ask a question. What does this mean? If you say nothing, you are deceived. If you ask why? The answer to that is the same answer I would give for your existence – God’s glory. If God is to be glorified in all of His wondrous creation do you not think we should at least look at what these planets are saying? After all He named them.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1
Each planet will appear in the sky one by one, starting Tuesday evening with Jupiter around 9:20 p.m. in New York. Mars will follow the gas giant’s solo debut, appearing as a reddish dot at approximately 1:11 a.m. E.S.T. Wednesday. Saturn enters next around 4 a.m., followed by Venus — the brightest orb — nearly an hour later. Mercury will join the ensemble last, taking the stage at around 6:17 a.m. It will last until the sun rises, at about 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday in New York, and makes it too bright to see the planets. The display will appear in the sky at similar times across the East Coast and before dawn across the northern Hemisphere. nytimes.com
The alignment has no astronomical significance other than that it is rare — a coincidence that the five planets with their varying speeds and orbits appear in the same field of view. But it is cool nonetheless. vox.com
Coincidence you say?
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things,
Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name,
By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing. Isaiah 40:26
5th planet from the sun and the largest in the solar system. In Roman mythology Jupiter was the “god of the sky”, “god of thunder” and “the king of the gods”. Jupiter was to the Romans what Zeus was to the Greeks. In other words, the same god who reigned from Mount Olympus in Greece was the king of the gods for the Romans under a different name. To the Babylonians, Jupiter was Marduk, for the Germanic people it was Thor. In all examples of history Jupiter represented the chief god.
The discus is decorated with a male figure (Jupiter) holding a staff or scepter. In front of Jupiter, one sees an eagle carrying a thunderbolt. In Greek and Roman mythology, the eagle served as Jupiter’s personal messenger, and it is said to have carried the youth Ganymede to Olympus, where he served as the gods’ cupbearer. archaeologicalmuseum.jhu.edu
In Hebrew Tzedeq צדק, Jupiter means “justice”. We have King planet, God above gods, and justice with a not so comforting reference to an eagle.
4th planet from sun. It is referred to as “The Red Planet” and was named after the Roman god of war. The length of a day on Mars is quite close to that of earth at 24 hours 37 minutes. Mars, aphelion (point of orbit at its furthest distance from sun) is 1.6660 AU (astronomical units). Mars has Olympus Mons (Latin for Mount Olympus), the largest volcano and second-highest known mountain in the solar system at 16 miles high.
The symbol for Mars is a spear which represents war as well as the male gender. It was Ares in Greek, Tyr in to the Norse and Nergal to the Babylonians. Mars was second only to Jupiter for the Romans and the month of March derived its name from Mars.
Mount Olympus was where the throne of Zeus existed in Greek mythology. The name means “bright, sky, high, rock”. In Turkish, the mountain is known as “Semavatevi”, meaning “heavens’ house”. Interestingly, the nearest town is 18 (666) kilometers or 11 miles away from Mt. Olympus named Litochoro which means “City of the gods” 55 miles from Thessaloniki (Thessalonica) of Paul’s day.
Paul’s first epistles written to the Church of Thessalonica located 55 miles from Mt Olympus (Olympus Mons) 310 miles from Thessalonica Paul would speak to philosophers of the day in Athens at Mars Hill. Mount Olympus and Mars Hill, Mars and Olympus Mons. The planet of war and the throne of the gods. Paul was launching a war but not one always visible through our physical eyes.
Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” Acts 17:22-31
In Hebrew Ma’adim מאדים, Mars means “the red one”. Red symbolizes bloodshed, the apocalyptic red horse who took peace from the earth. Mars means war and within the context of Mars Hill and Mt. Olympus we see a spiritual war as well. It’s always both.
6th planet from sun. Astronomical symbol is God’s sickle. The first probe to go to Saturn was the Pioneer 11, launched on April 6, 1973. Since there are no coincidences, it shouldn’t surprise any of you that this launch was exactly 11 days before the first day of Passover in 1973.
The day Saturday is named after the planet Saturn, which is derived from the Roman god of agriculture, Saturn (linked to the Greek god Cronus)
Saturn in astrology is the ruling planet of Capricorn and, traditionally, Aquarius. The sun entered Capricorn on the same day of the first day this planetary alignment was visible on 1/20/16. The sun will enter Aquarius next on February 17.
In Greek mythology, Cronus /ˈkroʊnəs/ or Kronos /ˈkroʊnɒs/ (Greek: Κρόνος, krónos) was the leader and youngest of the first generation of Titans, the divine descendants of Uranus, the sky, and Gaia, the earth. He overthrew his father and ruled during the mythological Golden Age, until he was overthrown by his own son Zeus and imprisoned in Tartarus.
Cronus was usually depicted with a harpe, scythe or a sickle, which was the instrument he used to castrate and depose Uranus, his father. In Athens, on the twelfth day of the Attic month of Hekatombaion, a festival called Kronia was held in honour of Cronus to celebrate the harvest, suggesting that, as a result of his association with the virtuous Golden Age, Cronus continued to preside as a patron of harvest. Cronus was also identified in classical antiquity with the Roman deity Saturn. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cronus.
Shabbatai שבתאי, Saturn meaning: “the restful one,” from the root meaning Sabbath or day of rest. Later corrupted by the Roman mythos and turned into “Saturn’s day” from where we get Saturday the actual Sabbath day of the week. When we take all of these together we see sickle for harvesting. On the Sabbath, one puts down their sickle from labor. God rested on the 7th day and commanded us to do the same. This speaks of the coming judgment along with the coming harvest. Harvest of souls and harvest of judgment. “Be still and know that I am God” and remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. forward.com
Therefore you are to observe the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. ‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death. Exodus 31:14-15
2nd planet from the sun. The astronomical symbol for Venus is the same as that used in biology for the female sex: a circle with a small cross beneath. The Roman goddess whose functions encompassed love, beauty, sex, fertility, prosperity and desire. Venus is the Roman equivalent to the Greek’s Aphrodite. We see the double edged sword of passion. It can be poisonous or life giving.
Her cults may represent the religiously legitimate charm and seduction of the divine by mortals, in contrast to the formal, contractual relations between most members of Rome’s official pantheon and the state, and the unofficial, illicit manipulation of divine forces through magic. The ambivalence of her function is suggested in the etymological relationship of the root *venes- with Latin venenum (poison), in the sense of “a charm, magic philtre”. Prospective brides offered Venus a gift “before the wedding”; the nature of the gift, and its timing, are unknown. wikipedia.com
Kokhevet כוכבת, Nogah נוגה or Kokhav-Nogah כוכב נוגה, Venus “the she-planet,” “the bright one,” or “the bright planet.” Known as the Morningstar when it rises in the east. Late Old English, from Latin Venus (plural veneres), in ancient Roman mythology, the goddess of beauty and love, especially sensual love, from venus “love, sexual desire; loveliness, beauty, charm; a beloved object,” from PIE root *wen- “to strive after, wish, desire.” This root is the source of Sanskrit veti “follows after,” vanas- “desire,” vanati “desires, loves, wins;” Avestan vanaiti “he wishes, is victorious;” Latin venerari “to worship;” Old English wynn “joy,” wunian “to dwell,” wenian “to accustom, train, wean,” wyscan “to wish.” etymonline.com
The bride is to have no love which they place above that for the Bridegroom. Sensual and erotic lusts untamed and outside the bounds of covenant is disordered. Venus symbolizes uncontrolled passions for the Romans but for the Maker of the Heavens it shows us passionate pursuit for the bride. In Venus we see corrupted passions and love for this world and we see the burning passion of the Morningstar for His bride. Strive after the lusts of the flesh or the Bright and Morningstar who desires your worship you cannot pursue both. Poison or The Vine of Life.
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Revelation 22:16
The closest planet to the sun. To the Romans he is the patron god of financial gain, commerce, eloquence (and thus poetry), messages/communication (including divination), travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery and thieves; he is also the guide of souls to the underworld. Mercury’s temple in Rome was situated in the Circus Maximus, between the Aventine and Palatine hills, and was built in 495 BC. We see two forms of the same thing. Listening to the clear messages of The Most High or seeking to communicate with other dimensions through divination.
His name is possibly related to the Latin word merx (“merchandise”; compare merchant, commerce, etc.), mercari (to trade), and merces (wages); another possible connection is the Proto-Indo-European root merĝ- for “boundary, border” (cf. Old English “mearc”, Old Norse “mark” and Latin “margō”) and Greek οὖρος (by analogy of Arctūrus/Ἀρκτοῦρος), as the “keeper of boundaries,” referring to his role as bridge between the upper and lower worlds. wikipedia.com
The messenger planet, the boundary keeper between the worlds. Kokhav כוכב, Mercury means “the planet”. Planet means ate Old English planete, from Old French planete (Modern French planète), from Late Latin planeta, from Greek planetes, from (asteres) planetai “wandering (stars),” from planasthai “to wander,” of unknown origin, possibly from PIE *pele- “flat, to spread” on notion of “spread out.” So called because they have apparent motion, unlike the “fixed” stars. Originally including also the moon and sun; modern scientific sense of “world that orbits a star” is from 1630s. etymonline.com
Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades or loose the cords of Orion? Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season, or can you guide the Bear with its children? Job 38:31-32
If we take the numbers of each planet in order from the sun we have 1 (Mercury), 2 (Venus), 4 (Mars), 5 (Jupiter), 6 (Saturn). 1+2+4+5+6 = 18 or 666.
Now let’s apply the meanings in order from the sun.
The message is clear as the boundary between worlds comes down (Mercury), lust not after this world but fix your passion on the bright Morningstar (Venus). War is coming as the red horse will take peace from the earth and waters will turn red with blood (Mars). God is just, the King of Kings, the God of gods, and the Lord of Lords mighty and awesome (Jupiter). Rest in the shadow of the Almighty, be still and know that I am God. Rest in me for My judgment and sickle is coming and those who find rest in Me will partake in the harvest (Saturn).
Now in order of appearance.
I am YHWH Lord over all (Jupiter). War is coming upon the earth and there will be much bloodshed (Mars), My sickle will judge those who do not find rest in Me (Saturn). Forsake your earthly lusts and passions and pursue your Bridegroom with all your heart (Venus). No longer wander as one who has lost his way; but heed the messages I have sent you, the boundaries I set will soon be removed. (Mercury)
