7 Seventeens

On September 17 I began work on my first article for this website which dealt specifically with September 2017. For quite some time the events which are to take place on this future date have consumed me. Before I speak to the sequence of circumstances I’d like to give you some background. My sister was 8 days past her due date for the birth of her first child and my parents had a flight scheduled to depart on September 18th. Tensions were mounting as they did not want to cancel their trip.

From my perspective, I was wrestling with God about my internal obsession with September 2017. I was in prayer asking for confirmation that this endeavor involving Bible prophecy, more precisely Revelation 12 and Sept. 2017, were something more than a personal obsession.

The Series of Events

On 9/17 I was praying for confirmation and began work on my article which was specifically about Sept. 2017. My sister gives birth on 9/17 at 7:17PM in room #417 to her child whose sum total of letters in her name equals 17. Less than 24 hours later my parents check into their hotel room #717. Three days later my parents board their flight to return home and are placed in row #17 on board a B717.

I’ve gone about to accurately calculate the probability of these occurrences. Earlier today I went to a local college to meet with a professor along with gathering additional information. Before I begin with my findings I’d like to point out some interesting information about these numbers. The biblical meaning of 17 is “complete victory” and it is the day of the month that Jesus was resurrected. You will notice that of all the 17’s in the above events three of them contain an additional 7, which equals 777. 777’s biblical meaning is perfection and a number in the Bible is repeated three times to indicate completion.

The word “priest” is used 777 times in the Bible. If you were to write “God is Jesus the Messiah” or “Jesus saves” in Hebrew the numerical value of each phrase equals exactly 777. The number 7 is used 735 times in scripture and is the number of annual holy days on God’s calendar. There are numerous other aspects to the significance of this number which are beyond the scope of this post.

The Probability

To calculate the probability of all these seventeens I used conservative estimates. I took the planes Delta uses for domestic flights and excluded those that are predominantly used for longer distances. I only included hospital rooms that would be used for delivery.  For the child’s name I assumed a 1 in 8 chance of totaling 17 letters or a range of 12-20 letters. The probability that the birth took place at 7:17 as opposed to 6:17 to give us the exact number of three 7’s is equally compelling. Furthermore, the fact all these events occurred in September the prophetic month in question is just as fascinating. Despite these unique components, I have not included them in my final analysis.

The probability for all these 17’s to take place is 1 in 138,205,440,000 or 1 in over 138 billion. The chances of winning the lottery jackpot is 1 in 175 million. That means the likelihood of winning the lottery is 788 times more probable than having this series of 17’s replicated. Your chance of being struck by lightning is about 1 in 500,000. In other words, you are 276,000 times more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this many 17’s occur in the same way. 1 billion seconds ago was 1959, 1 billion minutes ago Jesus was walking the shores of Galilee, in the last 8 hours Washington spent a billion dollars.  For an individual to count to 1 billion it would take 95 years. Remember, we are dealing with 138 billion not 1 billion.

Do you see the 7 1 7 ?

Genesis 7:17:

“And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.”

While grinding coffee the other morning I began to wonder why my parents weren’t placed in row 17 on their initial flight. It was one of those brief conversations one has in their head when “then there wouldn’t have been seven 17’s you idiot” interrupted my internal dialogue. Perhaps God called me an idiot or perhaps I called myself an idiot. Whatever the case may have been, I went through and counted the sequence of events and there were seven. The author of perfection placing His stamp on this series of divine events.

The number of seventeens, representing complete victory laced with a sovereign imprint of 3 specific individual 7’s while totaling 7 in number. We have 7 occurrences of 17 with three of them involving an additional seven.  777 the number of divine providence and perfection seven times making His presence known in a far from subtle way. To say there is no such thing as coincidences is one thing, but to conclude this sequence as such denies any acknowledgement of the eternal.

Upon further reflection I noticed something unique about the three 7’s paired with the seventeens. We have the 7 with the birth signifying new creation and the miracle of life. We have the 7 of the room number 717 for the hotel which represents a temporary domicile. I should note that 717 was not my parent’s initial room assignment, but rather a luxury suite reassigned to them distinct from any room given to the other conference attendees. The final 7 in the sequence was the B717 airplane, or vehicle used for the return home. When we put these distinct 7’s together we see a subtle but clear prophetic message:

the author of creation gives us life in this world while guiding us through our temporal dwelling place en route to our final destination.

Jeremiah 33:3

“Call to me and I will answer you, and tell you great and hidden things you did not know.”

There is no question that what transpired elicits a sense of awe . Despite my initial astonishment I wondered what God must have thought  “really? you think this is a big deal?” I find it difficult to believe God was working overtime. While I praise God for His gracious display of glory I am left with a humbled anticipation of more.

The God who parted the Red Sea and hung the ornaments in the heavens reveals so much of Himself we often overlook.  When we ask and observe He reveals a level of wonder that nothing in our terrestrial existence can replicate. Glimpses of eternity shatter the veneer of what we believe is reality. Some may say a glitch in the matrix. I would say this is not our home and there is no such thing as coincidence.

Additional Revelation About 9 Months Later

The 7 occurrences of 17, I thought was significant simply because it is God’s perfect number, there is a deeper specific meaning. As stated earlier, the impetus for this website was the events surrounding Revelation 12 sign in the heavens set to take place on September 23 2017, 3 days after the Feast of Trumpets. The Feast of Trumpets occurs on Tishri 1 on the Hebrew calendar. Tishri also happens to be the 7th month! So, there we have it, the 7th month of 2017 where the event described in Revelation occurs at the only time in human history.

Thanks Charity. You are the only one to comment on this post, it was the beginning of God showing me there is no coincidence.
I’m so glad you read this one – few venture deep enough into this site to come across it.
      11/17 – no coincidence

  1. Hank

    Hey Matt,

I’ve been reading your work ever since Steve Quayle started posting your links and just finished listening to your interview with the Hagmann’s. My mother still has an old Tonka tow truck that I had as a boy – it was blue and I had painted it green and put white racing stripes on it and painted the number ’17’ on the door. I don’t know why I did, but rest assured the Lord certainly does!

It has been my pleasure, as you work out your salvation while God works in you for HIS pleasure, to read your posts and become more excited about reading my Bible! God is Big, but unfortunately, my view of Him often small – brother’s like you and David Flynn have helped me to see Bigger! Thanks!

Thank you Hank this means a lot. I’m grateful your faith has been strengthened through God’s goodness in my life. We are all victims to a society that puts God in a box, He is gracious to show each of us His glory as we seek Him on a personal level. As I said on Hagmann, this is by far the most profound post on this site yet it remains the least read. The #17 truck is absolutely no accident! Even the fact you painted it green has meaning my brother. The profound manifestations of the spirit through a child should never be overlooked. Amazing!

  2. Hi Matt…just thought I’d come read your very first POST…as usual it’s just as INTERESTING…AND ENLIGHTENING….I’M turning into a Daily crow junkie..but I’m learning so much..I’m greatful for your helping me to learn about g d

  3. You leave me in awe of Yahweh’s intricate designs. I feel like a child lost in the woods as I wander through your pages, diverting down rabbit trails and popping out at surprising places I never knew existed. It’s all good. Thank you for honoring Him, and blessing me.

Thank you Linda. I am grateful you read this, this is where it all began when the Lord began showing me the countless ways He communicates.
Buried under the older posts, this will always be my favorite and it’s a great blessing when another gets to share in the awareness of His tapestry!

Awesome….. never a coincidence… I really believe that…. God reasures us of his Awesomeness.. Blessings Trudy A

Trudy, it always brings a smile to my face when someone reads this post.
This is where it all began with the Lord showing me a deeper level of His sovereignty over every detail.
      Thanks for reading

In Hebrew there is no word for coincidence. It is even considered an insult that it exists in other languages or when it is implied. Simply put, COINCIDENCE replaces GOD!

    • A Concerned Citizen

I never looked at “coincidence” in that light, but I must say that I believe you are correct. Never thought there was such a thing as coincidence, always thought everything was divinely orchestrated by our Creator. Your comment opened my eyes even further. Thank you, God Bless…

How inspiring that the first confirmation in answer to your prayer left absolutely no room for doubt. His hand is over you, and He is blessing the fruit of this inquiry. I believe that He enjoys revealing Himself and watches for us to catch-on.

My apartment number is 911. My mailbox is in a “section” of mailboxes numbered ‘228,’ which happens to be my birthday–2/28. On the middle of my mailbox’s little ‘door’ is the number 17.

    911 + 228 + 17 = 1156 = 34 squared = (17 + 17) X (17 + 17).

    And my sister’s birthday is on 11/17 = 1117 = 111 X 7 = 777.

    Thank-you, God.

  8. John Jamieson

John 14:6…Jesus said; I am the way the truth and the life; and no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. When I saw that the 17th comment had yet to be made I paused and prayed Lord what would you have me say? My name is John Jamieson and my deceased father was a Southern Baptist preacher. I live in NW Oklahoma, some call it a wilderness. (For those that need a label call me a Bapticostol) In the Spirit of this article it was my obsession with the 23 September, 2015 that has led me here. I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been in prayer about being able to see the obvious… It doesn’t come as easy for me but if this post ends up being #17. I know my wilderness journey will soon find it’s voice… Maranatha…. Lord the lukewarm are getting cold, it’s time to turn up the heat.

Wow, reading the series of events made me weep! Love it when God confirms someone’s ministry so strongly. Makes everything you write that much more powerful. God bless! Jenna
PS every time I read it it gets me (the Presence is strongly on it)

I wrote this in 2003. Ten years after the death of my daughter. A catharsis, part of a very painful, rending healing process. Writing this helped bring me out of the despair into which I had fallen.
I am sharing this here, because she was 17 at the time of her death.

…so long ago but not so long, so far away.
A dark night, a winding road. Headlights weaving an eerie dance in the distance. Laughter fades to silence as minds and bodies settle down on the long drive.
No one seems to notice as the lights draw closer, still making that same design through the darkness.
Silence grows more still, almost heavy in awful sudden expectation.
Headlights glaring, bright, blinding, the pattern now changed, coming straight on.
“Hey look out!”, a desperate voice calls from the back of the car.
A quick twist on the steering wheel, headlights now but a foot or two away, and then…
The car is spinning wildly over the road, the impact deadly. The truck flies by, tires screeching; a crash, a second one, and the truck doesn’t move again.
The small car stops spinning as it settles into a ditch just yards away from a white picket fence.
Now, there is a silence which speaks of fear and awful pain. Just to breathe will cause something terrible to happen. But, it already has.
She is gone, and my heart is full of a pain I cannot explain, even now after so many years. Such an emptiness, a hollowness deep inside that hurts a hurt so agonizing it never seems to end. No, it never ends. I can hide it, push it down, cover it up, but it is always there, always just below the surface of my emotions, waiting for a chance to be shown, always, always hurting. It is like some evil hand has grabbed hold of my heart and squeezes it all the time. Makes me stop and gasp for breath.
It is not easy to write this, not easy at all. How can you describe a heart broken, how can you tell someone what this feels like. People ask me how do I get through this, how can I handle it? Mostly I simply shrug and say, “You just do.”
To those who are more serious and genuinely care, I tell the of my faith in Jesus Christ, and how relying upon Him is what enabled me to survive. Without Him, I would have been lost. It is not a boast, nor a crutch as some would describe it, it is simply and understanding that all things come from Him.
“I lift my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
My help it comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
He will not let my foot be moved; He who keeps me will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is my keeper; the Lord is the shade on my right hand.
The sun shall not hurt me by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep me from all evil; He will keep my life.
The Lord will keep my going out and my coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” Psalm 121
This is my daughter. Her name is Sandra. She was seventeen.
Her life was taken by the hand of a drunk driver.

I am truly sorry for your loss. As a mother myself, I simply cannot fathom your grief or depths of continual sorrow. I can however understand how in our Savior hope was and is found and through His grace you are able to move forward.

He has given you a tremendous gifting through writing and your words are more timely than you realize. Here at Daily Crow, several of our readers have recently suffered the loss of a child. So thank you for sharing and I pray He continues to pour out His peace and joy upon you.
      God bless~

We lost her when she was 17. 23 years ago. She would have turned 40 this August 13. That is another 17. We have 7 grandkids. (all boys mind you).
We had 8 grandsons but lost one at age 13 months. (I might write about that later)

DRP, sundown on Aug. 13th this year was the beginning of Tisha B’Av. Last year Tisha B’Av was in July.
I don’t need to tell you the significance of 40. This is pretty amazing. My cousin got married on 8/13, there are 12 of us in total.
At my table, number 13 was Benjamin (Jacob’s 13th child), Samuel, Bethany and Noah. Sundown, or the beginning of Tisha B’Av was while we were at the reception.

Your cup runneth over. Happy is the man who has a quiver full.
I consider the time we spend with our boys to be a polish the crown time as well as goofing off.
Never ceases to amaze us what they can do.

Should say, we have…Joshua Raphael, Jaiden Riley, Riley, Noah Viet, Evan Christian, Ethan Isaiah, and the oldest is Matthew.
The precious one we lost was Angel Ray.
